Grandfather Clocks ….Mid Valley

I am not in the world of Clocks and watches. I totally have no idea how much a Grandfather Clocks will cost us until I have visited Siew Cheong Clocks!!!

When I was young, Cuckoo Clocks is my favourite. My neighbour owned a Cuckoo clock, I really love it to the extend I want my dad to get us one for our new house. Well, only my dad knows we are not affordable for it yet.

Siew Cheong Clocks is selling variety of mechanical clocks imported from overseas. I think this is rather a good place for clocks enthusiast.  I snapped some photos from outside then I stepped in the shop.

An shop lady sitting on the sofa, munching with some foods on her hand…seems so delicious!! :D  I walk around, the price for a Cuckoo Clocks really stressed my eyes open bigger.  Of course all are well design and nice for decoration.   I  have learned that a quite simply type of longcase Grandfather clocks can cost up to RM40,000 :O. Well, simplicity is the beauty…and they looks awesome!!….

After a stroll, I decided to leave ….and I intend to snap another photo outside the shop.  The lady who was munching food on the sofa, rush out from the shop, shouting at me with finger pointing  “No Camera !!.. No Camera!”She was kind of mad and sound like trying to stop me from committing a crime….hahaha.  She don’t even bother to listen to my explanation….:(  I got those kind of weird eyes staring from the people who passing by,  I guess they thought I was being shout to leave the shop :( …so i better hide myself as fast as I could.  Well,  I should have snap how that shop lady enjoy her foods with leg shaking, while two customers are in the shop and one of the customer was well taken care by a male shop promoter…:P

I just wonder, why  they don’t allow people take photos of their shop?? Are they really know the reason?

Value for $$ :

I guess value for $$ is depend on the after sales service. Most of their design are unique.

Approachability/ Friendliness of Staff :
No approach from the sales lady who enjoy foods on the sofa, probably she know that I am definitely not a buyer. hahaha. ……but who knows??…

First Shopping Experience in HCM city, Vietnam

Some people say that Ho Chi Minh city (Vietnam) is a shopping heaven, which I hope that this is true as I am going to be stationed here for 3 months. Well, SHOPPING is the only thing that I think can help me to kill my loneliness and to kick me alive in this place.

I stay in the Sofitel which is some distance away from the shopping area, but if I am willing to pay just USD1, the taxi will bring me to the city tourist shopping place – DONG KHOI. Walking on the street, I feel extremely excited :P .Wow, I just can’t wait to go in to the shops, some of the shops look so colourful from outside with its beautiful handicraft.

On the Dong Khoi Street

One of the shops that really attracted me here is the Bίch Lien . This shop sells variety of home decoration stuff ranging from the lacquer ware to antique. What is so special about this shop compare to other on the same street is that the price and the variety. If you are looking for a lacquer vase, dining ware or even antique decoration for your house this will be the place.

Lacquer Vase with Variety Color and Shape

Wooden crafting of traditional Vietnamese

Colourful vases

Antique

Lacquer Bowl

Unlike the other shops, the prices here are fixed. Maybe you have to pay slightly more, but you don’t need to get into bargain in a language that they might not really understand.

I have been hunting for so long for decorative to put on my TV bench in my new house and finally I found what I want here. Look at the wooden stork and the red round candle holder in the photo below. I paid only USD20 for all of these!

I finally found something that fits my TV bench nicely

Value for $$ :

3/5 Worth the $$$. Probably you will have to pay more for the same thing in KL?

Approachability/ Friendliness of Staff :

2/5. Maybe because of the language problem
