HCMC Night Market

Hi shoppers,

This is Saturday and I stuck in the office for 7 hours…this is not the way my weekend supposed to be. I told myself that I must go out for shopping after the hard day work. Not only window shopping, but I must make sure I buy something to make my day.

When I walked out the office, I quickly got into a cab and heading to the night market in the city centre. I am sure I will definitely get something here. Things are cheap, I guess I could just buy anything for the sake of buying and spending money.

In a mere one hour I have got myself 4 pieces of clothes and 2 polo T for my nephew. I looked into my wallet and realised that I didnt bring alot of $$ with me. I have planned to get myself a good meal in a Thai Restaurant. Emm shopping or dining?? My heart told me to save the money for my dinner later. So I stop buying after spending about USD40.

More about the night market….this market is situated outside the famous Ben Thanh Market in the centre of HCMC. It starts to operate after 6pm when the indoor Ben Thanh market is closing. Like the other night market in Malaysia, it sells variety of things with clothes, shoes and bags on the top list. When your feet get tired and your stomach start signing you for a meal, walk to the other side of the street and you will find top end hawker stalls waiting to serve you with delicious local food and seafood.

Orchid Silk in HCM

SILK probably is one of the famous shopping items in Vietnam. If you are strolling around the teeming street in HCMC, you will find inordinate number of shops selling silk clothing. Most of these shops offering tailored fashions and you will be happy to know that plenty of them will also provide custom-tailor clothing which could be ready in just a few days.

On the Le Loi street in the city centre, I have discovered a tailor shop that sells particularly colourful pieces of ladies wear. The shop is named after flower ….Orchid Silk.

As I entered into the shop, I noticed that the shop is made up with 2 entrances. Enter from the right hand side, I saw all the display of silk products. On the other side, there hang beautiful pieces of linen and cotton dress.

This cheongsam wear looks so classic in dark colour. Too bad that it is too lose and long for me :-(. But no worry, remember that they do custom-tailoring? If I really want it so much, I am sure I could get them to custom make for me.

Personally I like this blouse so much. It looks so artful and simple. The shop sells variety of accessories too which could give a marvelous match to the beautiful outfits.
